Kip

The "official" currency in Respite, kip is a paper currency with no backing. Each note bears the insignia of Respite: a broken ship silhouetted by the rising sun. Recently adopted by the Captain's Council, this currency has been controversial, since most people in Respite still use a traditional barter system for exchanging goods and services, or simply use old world coinage. 
So far, no greater denominations of kip exist, and one kip is worth approximately 5 sp in a traditional D&D setting, though many establishments simply don't accept the currency.
