Crystalbrook

The kingdom of Fire and Ice, known for its many forges and to be settled on an island in the middle of a frozen lake. The kingdom is ruled by the five forge masters who provide the city with great inventions, machines, and weapons. The most common races found here are Dwarves, warforged, silver or blue dragonborn, Goliaths and sometimes halflings. Most of the city is dedicated to shrines to Andor, The Allsmith and Vogen, The Allknowing. For those who commit crime most are punished by indentured servitude forced to help construct great buildings and help mine the materials for the city. The city is also known to be home of the greatest inventor to ever lived. Nimere Malwyn, a silver dragonborn born on the day Andor, The Allsmith ’s birthday was blessed with the intuition and natural ability to turn her ideas into inventions that would change the Straxterra forever. During her time as one of the forge masters, she lived through the wrath of Sylva and the anger of Sithrak, The Ruiner. She used her mind to create the weapons that would defend the city from attackers and would make any kingdom think twice before attacking. Since her death, her family's bloodline has always held a seat among the five forge masters. In the recent uptick in magic the city has seen great improvements in the city's technology and seen an explosion of great inventors. With Andor, The Allsmith 's birthday not far away the city believes that on that day a new great inventor will reveal themselves and provide the city with a new age of innovation.
With large walls of ice surrounding the city. A single road leads up to the kingdom that meets a large steel gate guarded by rows of soldiers. Upon entering the city one is immediately surrounded by enormous structures. The city is built in the formation of a mountain with the buildings and roads inclining toward the center. The smell of smoke and fire fill the air, there is a constant sound of hammers striking metal. Many carts and people rush through and trading for parts on their way to work. Large streets and tight alleyways lead to the center of town where the inventors guild thrives, called The Innovators' Nexus. On the top floor of the building is where the leaders of the city and the leaders of the inventors guild meet to decide the future of crystal brook. In the back of the city is where a large military base is built guarding the vault of Crystalbrook said to hold the inventors most dangerous and powerful inventions, weapons and artifacts. Rumors and legends say that they have a weapon that would destroy the gods if they chose to. The base is always patrolled and kept on high alert after someone got into the base a few years ago. The wall of ice that surrounds the city carved with depictions of the myths and stories of Andor, The Allsmith . Many of the citizens will often carve into the wall for prayer and to show their gratitude for the city and the great inventors. Despite the surrounding weather and the enormous wall, inside travelers can feel the immense heat provided by the forges constantly operating within the city.
