Down-Time Actions
Down-Time Actions (or DTAs for short) are those actions your character takes "off screen", i.e. things that they may do or engage in while no one else is around, or things that ares imply too mundane and/or boring to play out in a scene.
Here on Stockholm Beyond the Thorns we use DTAs in the following manner:
- A character may perform an extended skill check roll. Examples of this would be doing research or crafts that require time.
- Non-roll specific actions that may still lead to progression for the character. For example, tending to a crop of Goblin Fruit, or motivating an XP spend on a skill increase by using the DTA to motivate how it was gained.
- Seek counselling for Clarity breaks.
- Anything else that seems to be falling within the scope of what your character could feisably do during their downtime.
