Advancement Points

Advancement Points
  Why?
To make the process of purchasing characters from a wide variety of source material more directly compatible, and to provide a simple, unified framework to (try to) balance the various sources.
The Aptitudes system is confusing to new players and costing things out takes longer than my players wanted.  I offered and moved to trying the Advancement Point (AP) system, with set values for each item, and it worked.

Changes Aptitiudes are removed.  They appeared in DH2 material, the other source books do not feature them.
Experience Points are removed and Advancement Points(AP) replace them.
AP are awarded in about 1-4 per session, in place of hundred of Experience Points.
.
One may accrue ones points or spend them according to a simplified chart (see later).
If you GM tells you to create a starting character with a high enough value of AP, and he approves, it is possible to spend a portion of this value on an advanced Character option:
Astartes, Chaos Legion, Xenos and specialist humans are all an option.
One note: Membership in Psychic occupations or Tech-Priest occupations usually costs extra given the power of these classes.

Does it work?
Yes.
We ran a very successful 5 year campaign using and evolving these rules.  At the end of the time, we had tried all the race options given in these rules, and several of the Role options for them.  No-one reported feeling under-effective compared to their neighbors.
