Artificial Intelligences
Simulated Intelligence (SI): given a set of data, SI can identify known patterns and run calculations. Unable to learn or run new software.
- SI are designed with automation in mind. Mindless drones, routine activity, zero creativity.
- Can be mass produced.
- VI are often generated when a flaw in SI programming results in independent action. Autonomy results in personality, which results in citizenship
- Can be manufactured, but rarely done on large scale.
- The creation of a functional Deepmind is a long and expensive process, requiring materials, power and technician-hours available only on the scale of planets and decades.
- The New Worlds Project has a statistically significant number of the publicly-known Deepminds.
