Rastil Character in Stelair | World Anvil

Rastil

Giver of Life, The Holy Seeder, Tender of Flocks, The Harvester, Father Time

Quiet but caring. Rastil enjoys solitude and watching the simpler things grow. He holds wariness with mortals and their habit to so greatly alter the balance of nature, though as living things themselves he keeps his judgment at bay. He has a love of all life on @Stelair and tries to nurture it through his followers and avatars. However for some reason he maintains his distance from the mortal plane and direct communication to his followers. Rastil is also a perfectionist and he holds strangely specific rules about some things. Such as certain animals interacting or a specific plant growing next to a different plant.

Followers & Avatars

Clan of Feathers

The government is entirely formed around its wisemen who make decisions only on the words of Rastil, his avatars, or the word that has been passed down from their ancestors. Holidays

Celebration of Life & Growth

This celebration takes place once a year during the end of spring. It is a day where farmers & ranchers gather together and pray for blessings on their harvests. The celebration usually entails a week long festival which includes games, prizes, and tasks of worship usually consist of group dances. At the end of the week, whoever remains gathers together in a circle to chant a final prayer to Rastil for his blessings on their tasks. Because of the festivities larger towns and cities without large farming communities have adopted the celebration.

New Cycle

On the first & last day of the year many people take a day of rest to prepare themselves for the next year. Some people however make a Growth Pact. A promise to Rastil they will change themselves before the next year passes. In return a blessing will be bestowed to them. This pact is made by taking a @Shimmering Lily out into the wilderness into a secluded spot. An heartfelt prayer must be offered up with flower in hand until its starts to glow. When it does the person may speaker their promise to change, after which the flower will curl itself up into a seed. The same time next year, if the person believes themself to be changed they may once again go into the wilderness alone and plant the seed. When offering a pray up, and if the person has completed their pact, then the lily will grow and a blessing bestowed.

The Day of the Hunt

A celebration mostly recognized by hunters and communities which live off of it. It is a day where the act of hunting is celebrated. It varies from group to group. Some people have a weeks long lead to the day where they try and kill the most impressive game with the actual celebration being the deadline. Others participate by going on an all day expedition to test their luck. Even still others use it as a day to teach others their skills to young inexperienced hunters.
