Flipboarding

"One must focus on their inner balance. For in order to ride the board one must become the board. However unlike the board you must be flexible. So one must be the board except flexible. And the ability to see. Honestly you really shouldn't be like the board. Just ride it. Also important note, don't try flipboarding with your eyes closed near a cliff."   -Excerpt from a journal by a J. Waylan

History

Flip boarding derives from a orcish test of coordination and balance where one takes a 5ft branch or tree limb and attempts to balance on the peak of a rock. During the first meetings between the settlers of Molor and the orcs, there were many of these physical tests being performed by the orcs as a way to show off their strength. Among other things, the settlers took this concept back with them to show their friends and children.   Quickly the concept caught on and spread among the settlers. And with its spread, variations began to be made. Branches became hewn boards and rocks gave way to whatever was nearby. Simply balancing became a beginners trick while hopping, flipping, and twirling these boards without touching the ground became they norm. The most skilled flipboarders being able to climb rocky slopes and flip the board multiple times in a row before landing again.   While slowly, it has made its way off of Molor and into the rest of the world where magic is beginning to influence style and board design. Though the hardcore flipboarders still preferring a simple wooden board opposed to a arcanely enhanced one.

Execution

The premise is fairly simple. Your feet must never touch anything other then the board and you attempt to do as many tricks as possible while doing so. The most common of which is flips. Competitions between flipboarders usually involve uneven terrain such as on the rocks in a river or up in some trees.
