Asteroid YK-217

Asteroid YK-217 is a large celestial body that has been partially hollowed out due to extensive mining operations.
Asteroid YK-217 is large enough to host a population of up to a few million inhabitants. While it does not have the capability to grow food on a large scale, it is capable of recycling the majority of its breathable atmosphere and waste water, making it a relatively self-sufficient location. The asteroid can accommodate dozens of 100 meter-long vessels and hundreds of smaller vessels internally, providing ample space for cargo, transportation, and other operations.

History

Asteroid YK-217 was first discovered by a mining company in the early days of interstellar exploration. It was initially a profitable venture, with large deposits of rare metals and other resources. However, over time the resources were depleted, and the cost of extracting them became too high to be profitable. The company abandoned the asteroid, leaving it to be taken over by the Eridani Syndicate . Since then, the asteroid has become a key location for the Syndicate's operations, and is heavily guarded and protected from outside forces.
