A savage mercenary for hire, Heavy Metal is one of those villains who doesn't go out of his way to kill others, but also doesn't hold back against those weaker than himself, which often leads to civilians being maimed or killed when he's on the job. He isn't known for his intelligence, but the large man - seven-foot tall in metal form - is strong and ruthless, which leads most heroes to avoid him if they can't stand up to him in direct combat.

Heavy Metal is considered a Class A superhuman.

While he isn't the toughest hero, his limited abilities mean that they're stronger than most other superhumans in his class, which allows him to overpower most opponents he goes up against.
