Gatekeeper

Gatekeeper is a young Japanese woman who is a member of the New York Champions, and is best known for warding off several attacks by Destruction Corps and other villains. While she rarely is able to defeat enemies directly, she is well-regarded for her ability to limit the damage that is dealt, while also being a friendly, public member of the team.

Gatekeeper is considered a Class A superhuman.

Gatekeeper is able to erect barriers and wards with a thought, ones that don't appear to involve any magic, though she's often compared to Warden, whose powers are more versatile. Unusually for one of her rank, Gatekeeper appears to only possess these shielding powers, and as such cannot face most villains directly, but needs support. In exchange, she appears able to be able to maintain her wards virtually indefinitely without them draining her energy, but they don't persist without her focusing on the barriers.
