Desert Jewel, High King of Tezca & Leader of the Healing Lake Clan
Often referred to as "Desert Fool" due to his quick-temper, poor judgement and arrogant nature, Desert Jewel has been the leader of The Healing Lake Clan for 20 years, following the death of his father Shade of the Desert. Desert Jewel created the High King of Tezca position for himself upon becoming leader of The Healing Lake Clan declaring:
"I have dominion over Tezca and all that she holds. Every person, every possession, every drop of water, every grain of sand all of it belongs to me."
Naturally, this caught the ire of many residents of Tezca not to mention those belonging to the numerous other Tabaxi clans inhabiting the island. Previously, the leader of the largest clan had always served as an enforcer of justice and fairness. They mediated conflict and sought peaceful resolutions. They were regarded as the manager of the island, not the owner.
Nevertheless, no clan dared to challenge Desert Jewel given the vast numbers of The Healing Lake as well as their control of the water supply on the desert island. As such, Desert Jewel managed to unite the Tabaxi clans of Tezca (something which has not happened since the Blood Clan War), securing his position of power and granting him great fortune.
Desert Jewel has been a negligent King to say the least, since his anointment crime and violence on the island has been steadily increasing and the tenuous peace between the Great Houses has begun to fracture.
