04 - Running Up A Hill
General Summary
The crew began to follow the Daggermotte river upstream to search for Chittering Elva. They ignored smoke to the west and continued East.
The crew crossed a border of graves, about 2 meters apart each.
Soon after, they encountered a dryad which was afflicted with some kind of blight. It was moving through the area, attempting to heal flora of the same blight.
Watcher lead the way and the party camped near the river in the evening, using Watcher's Starry Hut.
Judge had a dream about of arguing and falling out with someone in a dark fortress. A symbol of the serpent was visible.
A massive spider crossed the crew's camp in the night.
The next morning the party continued East. Upon reaching higher elevation, they saw the Wyvern in the distance. The crew attempted to hide, but were spotted.
After a dangerous battle, the Wyvern and Lich were destroyed. The lich's robes were burnt and Echyll took its Skull and Staff.
The crew continued up river to find Chittering Elva.
At the source of the river the crew found a huge, blackened and rotted tree. At its roots there was a cave. Around the entrance various heads and skulls were impaled and corpses hung from the branches of the tree.
The crew descended under the roots of the tree. They found a chest with talking undead heads within. Mitch took an assortment of potions. Sindril killed the many snakes that hung on the walls. In the basement, Watcher found an old broken Warforged.
The crew met with Chittering Elva. There was a large purple curtain, and from behind it large spidery limbs with human hands emerged. Two more limbs held a large wooden mask, a grinning face painted with red dye and soot.
At the Custodians request, the crew retrieved Chittering Elva's Bound Tome to return to Lirimidium.
To remove the amulet from Judge, Elva requested that the party return her assistant, a Tabaxi named New Leaf, who had fled from her service. New Leaf is part of the Fael Tribe who live down river to the West.
Elva also seemed eager to conduct separate deals with all individuals, for whatever they may want or need.
The crew left, trying to determine what to do next. They again camped near the river. Judge had a dreamless sleep, but in the morning a rib cage had began to form near the amulet.
