07 A Reframing Swim
After a small recreational hunt of some slow irritated ooze on Briarfall to get back into the swing of hunting, Koko heads to Ventsea to hunt a bigger better trophy.

Koko scans from the air and finds a moderately shallow shelf with dense eye stalk forests. She makes splash down, her ship easily floating but unstable and not properly equipped for aquatic environments, she cannot use it further and is already set up for a tow out of the sea next week. Until then she will do her best to find the biggest baddest thing here and take it out. probably eat it too. The initial evaluation of the site is promising. plenty of vertical space above the eyestalk forest to engage from... but not much else to go on. getting closer to actually see what that large thing is that sways the eyestalk grasses would be to risky at this point so she instead decides to scout by proxy signals. Koko spends most of the week focused on the movements and informing potential weak points generally even though she doesn't even know the general shape of the creature. She is fully prepared for all kinds of armor configurations and limbs based on the smaller fauna they have found but it's not a really strong strategy to pick a fight this big with something you haven't seen. She remembers losing her grandmother to exactly this kind of hunting strategy and even though it's what she was taught, she realizes only now that her crew were more raiders than proper hunters and relied on military force more than skill

With no trophy to show Koko sits to be picked up and reflects on her identity as a Star Hunter. It's still a core part of her identity and she isn't giving it up, even if now she is starting to realize her family and crew didn't live the way they liked to describe themselves. Koko decides to do better. To be true Floran Star Hunter. It's a long journey ahead but she needs actual practice, an actual ship, and even though it's more Pixels than they have ever operated with in sum: a proper Cloning Pod of her own.
