It was centrally located in the sector, and in a region of space that was relatively safe from separatist actions. In the first year of the war they sponsored the construction of several Rendili Star Drives orbit docks. The Republic kept control of these yards, and they began to produce the Acclamator assault ships and Pelta class frigates needed to support the clone legions in their battles. For the other two years of the war, the shipyards pumped out these vital ships. This new industry gave new life to a system whose mines had long since played out and people once more flowed to the system.   After the clone war ended and the Republic fell, the yards at Lanawah were turned to the construction of civilian ships. This was part of Palpatine's plans to rebuild the economy of his nascent Empire. The Republic’s economy had been devastated by the clone war, and Palpatine knew he would need a strong economy to support his planned military expansions. Also, the new focus on bulk freighters would move more of trade into the hands of the trans-stellar corporations, making it easier for the Empire to control. In the decade since the war, the yards have continued to expand, and the population has continued to grow. The many island chains of the planet have become covered by starscrapers and domed underwater habitats now cling to the underwater portions of the seamounts. When Moff Hax arrived in the sector, he appointed a new governor, Hysio Melnau. When Governor Melnau arrived in the system, he immediately nationalized the yards that the Republic had built, and the Empire had inherited. He immediately ordered them to begin laying the hulls of new Acclamator & Acclamator-II assault ships. Thus far, Governor Melnau has declined to resume production of the Pelta class frigates.
