Imperial Strategic Materials List

The Galactic Empire is heavily reliant on the mining of certain mineral commodities that are vital to the Empire's security and economic prosperity. This dependency of the Galactic Empire on sources of these minerals separate from its production facilities creates a strategic vulnerability for both its economy and military to adverse action, natural disaster, and other events that can disrupt supply of these key minerals. Pursuant to Imperial Order 13817, “Imperial Strategy to Ensure Secure and Reliable Supplies of Critical Minerals,” the Imperial Advisory Board presented a draft list of 47 mineral commodities deemed critical under the definition provided in the Executive Order.   The final list includes: Aluminum (bauxite), antimony, arsenic, barite, beskar, beryllium, bismuth, carvanium, cesium, chromium, cobalt, fluorspar, gallium, germanium, graphite (natural), hafnium, helium, hyperbarides (Frasium, Hollinium, Ilinium, Maranium, Vintrium), indium, khyber crystal, lithium, lommite, magnesium, manganese, meleenium, neutronium, niobium, platinum group metals, potash, the rare earth elements group, rhenium, rubidium, scandium, strontium, tantalum, tellurium, tibanna gas, tin, titanium, tungsten, uranium, vanadium, zersium and zirconium.   This list of strategic minerals, while “final,” is not a permanent list, but will be dynamic and updated periodically to reflect current data on supply, demand, and concentration of production, as well as current policy priorities.   Transport of these commodities shall be restricted to those shippers specially licensed by the Bureau of Ship Services (BoSS). Violation of this restriction is to be considered a class 2 infraction
