Renlus Federation

The Renlus Federation is a recently created political entity meant to prevent the Empire of Dalicron from absorbing the systems in the southern half of the Dalicron sector. The federation is a primarily an agreement, between the systems in the southern region, to create, fund, and manage a fleet intended to prevent invasion from the Empire.
Following the death of the Emperor of the Galactic Empire the power of the empire began to wane. Offenses by the New Republic drew imperial forces from all over the empire. This left the sector moffs with little support, and emboldened the planets seeking indepence. When the local Moff, Dorance Galgorn, declared the sector of Dalicron independent and himself Grand Marshall, ruler of the Empire of Dalicron, individuals in the southern part of the sector began to seek ways to protect themselves from the assault they felt was sure to come.
Not wanting to lose his planet, and sensing an opportunity, Florant Kanque, of Renlus, met with the governments of the systems in the southern end of the sector and worked with them to create the Federation. His goal was protection, not the creation of a single entity that the planets had to join. He described the Federation as a mutual defense agreement in which all of the systems would provide ships and crew, supported by the planet, to a single fleet who's sole purpose was preventing the empire from invading the south. Florant was successful, with ten of the systems joining the Federation. Only Raramet, Gashan, and Morkoth declined to join and provide forces.
Just seven days prior the empire moving into Sixray the Renlus Federation sent a fleet to the system. When the Empire delegation arrived their vessel was boarded and they were presented the news that the southern systems would not be subjects of the Empire.
Over the next months the Empire moved forces into Heroy in preparation to invade the Federation. While they were staging the fleet a series of pirate raids, prompted by Preston Willis of Sappire, on Anuin and Haragraf drew the Emperors attention. The emperor had to decide whether to send forces south, or strengthen his current borders. Swearing to return he dispersed his forces to his existing systems. 
While the Empire struggles to expand its fleet the Federation is doing so as well. The strategy of the Federation is to keep the Emperor from dedicating his star destroyers to the invasion. They are doing this through direct and indirect means. They have several large freighters that have been converted to carriers, platforms for hundreds of small craft, and stationed them in Sixray where all that travel through the system can see. In addition the Federation has acquired the services of Bjart Lomandormandil, a retired admiral of the Grand Republic.
