Ork, Wildspace

An offshoot of the traditional orc, unlike the scro the wildspace ork is less of an improved evolution, and more of a side-step. Academics have been unable to pin down the original source of the wildspace ork, as they appeared nearly simultaneously in distantly separated areas of wildspace and the astral sea over the last hundred years. There is a great deal of speculation regarding the timing of their appearance related to the shattering of the spheres, but some historical records suggest they predate the cataclysmic event by at least a decade.   Regardless of their origins, wildspace orks are bulkier than their groundling cousins, appearing to be more powerfully built. Most of this is in fact water weight, and at least one academic paper suggests the ability to tap the veins of a wildspace ork as a source of water in an emergency. Unfortunately, most wildspace orks find this process quite humiliating, which is counted as somewhat of a blessing by those who would prefer not to drink ‘ork juice’.   Wildspace orks have some latent psychic ability, and are statistically likelier to develop psionic wild talents. They show great aptitude with any profession they set their minds to, often surprising others with their skills at crafting, performance, and even magical ability, referred to as their focus. This aptitude seems to come with an over-specialisation bias, and they often struggle to learn new skills while maintaining old ones, and have poor memory recall for faces, names, and locations (unless directly related to their focus). Those that aren’t familiar with wildspace orks often consider them savants, but it’s merely a side effect of the way their minds appear to work.   Most wildspace orks are appreciative of shiny and/or spiked objects, and refer to others or objects as being ‘kunnin’ or ‘brutal’. Most speak with a horrible accent that only increases the bias of others against them, but like many wildspace species this vernacular is merely an affectation, and the assumption may come at great cost to the listener.
Ork, Wildspace Traits

Whenever you roll a natural 1 on a d20, whatever you were attempting to do does happen, but not quite the way you intended. The DM will either roll on the Wild Magic Surge table, or describe the effect.   Look mate, dat’s ma focus. You may not multiclass.   Ork Juice? I’ll give you ork juice in a minnit, pal. Whenever you would gain a level of exhaustion as a result of dehydration, make a constitution saving throw with a DC of 10 plus the number of days since you have drunk half the required water per day as shown in the Water Needs per Day table. If you succeed the saving throw, you do not gain the level of exhaustion.   Scy- Pesseye- I dunno, it’z just how I iz yeah? At character creation choose a single skill, tool, or saving throw you are not proficient with, or a cantrip from any spell list. If you have chosen a skill, tool, or saving throw, you gain proficiency with it. If you select a cantrip you can cast it as a psionic wild talent, using constitution as your spellcasting ability. Psionic wild talents can be used a number of times equal to your constitution bonus per long rest.
