Proficiency
When you perform a Research action on the facility if you are not proficient with Navigator’s Tools make a wisdom check against DC 15; if successful you gain proficiency with Navigator’s Tools.
Research Options
When you use the Research Action with this facility, choose one of the following options:
Cruising Course. Choose a destination on the same plane, and plot a cruising course. You discover up to 3 locations of interest within 1d4 days travelling at cruising speed along your course. The DM determines what information you learn. A plotted cruising course expires after ten days.
Tactical Course. Select an area of space no larger than a number of days travelling at cruising speed equal to your proficiency modifier, and plot a course. Any pilot that spends at least one hour performing a Study action on the plotted course gains advantage on Piloting Checks to avoid hazards or random encounters, and on Perception checks or to find something specific within the area (such as a school of space fish, a small settlement, or another vessel). A plotted tactical course expires after ten days.
