Power of Exploration and Portals   Hull, the Wayfarer, was one of the heroes (or anti-heroes, depending on the myth) of the great uprising that freed the spheres from the deadly gaze of the eye tyrants. Known as both a powerful arcanist and gifted explorer, Hull is mentioned regularly in those few texts from the time of the tyrant's empire, although its actions are often called into question by those of the most opposed alignments.   A free mind flayer, Hull is said to have led the great fleet of ships through the thickest of the phlogiston to reach the three spheres that together formed the power base for eye tyrants, the Beholder Triumvirate. Only one ship of the great fleet returned from the voyage, bearing Sharn, She Who Provides, the body of Ward Defender, a starving handful of crew, and the news that the triumvirate had been defeated.   Hull is said to have been instrumental in the final acts against the tyrant empire, but that it took the willing (or perhaps unwilling) sacrifice of many crews to quite literally feed the mind flayers power to this end. The magical power this enabled is the subject of speculation among historians and arcanists, but prevailing theories are that it invoked some kind of gestalt ceremorphosis powerful enough to oppose the beholders.   Those that pay homage to Hull do so in caution when lost in wildspace or the astral sea, when facing seemingly insurmountable odds, or even in curse - to invoke Hull’s Kiss is a clearly suggestive statement.   Reverence of Hull as an ascendant power began shortly after the shattering of the spheres, when its symbols began appearing among explorers and arcanists. No formal church appears to have been established, but most ports have scuttle of one or two clerics, warlocks, or even paladins of the Wayfarer passing through. The primary themes in these rumours are that the individuals are difficult to identify, wear heavy robes as though they are hiding something, and wear the symbol of Hull on a chain around their necks. Mysterious and foul deeds are often blamed upon them, regardless of a lack of evidence or motive.
