Caitlin
Character name: Caitlin Frost
Brief origin story: She was raised in a forest with other wood elves, and enjoyed play-fighting with the bigger elves. One day, goblins attacked them, setting fire to the forest. In the confusion of fleeing, Caitlin got separated from her family. She eventually came to a town, where she met Henry Lightwood.
Why they started adventuring: Henry Lightwood saw the promise in Caitlin. She didn't have any money, and was actually innumerate, so the two came to an agreement - Caitlin would help The Lightwood Company with quests, and instead of getting paid in gold and fancy items, Caitlin only wanted food, drink, a place to stay, and the occasional healing potion.
Has that changed: Caitlin now adventures because it's fun, and that's where all her friends are. She has recently started to take an interest in money.
Desires: For a long time, Caitlin had few desires. Since branching out into being not just a monk, but also part druid, she has acquired new desires. Maybe it was being a squirrel occasionally, but Caitlin now has a fascination with "pretty" items, such as statuettes. Mostly, she wants to have fun, and for Caitlin, that means violence. How else will she continue to acquire teeth?
What gets a rise out of them: People being violent when there is no skill required. A prisoner being tortured, for instance. Caitlin would probably beat the shit out of the torturer, whether she had any intention of freeing the prisoner or not.
Notable NPCs: Klea, a tiefling found in the lair of Ras Nsi. Klea and Caitlin are low-key feeling each other out.
Character arc so far: Lawful-neutral monk --> true-neutral monk/cleric after her soul was temporarily taken by Acererak (she questioned everything about herself) --> chaotic-good monk/cleric/druid who will do whatever she likes, knowing she has a good heart after all.
What's on their mind now: Learning how numbers work, how to be the drummer in Trent's band, and squirrel things.
Short-term goals: Continue to reinvent herself.
Mid-term goals: Seeing where this druid business will take her, but still valuing her monk nature.
Long-term goals: Find something she loves doing that can be done after she's finished with adventuring.
