Keth, Broodmxter of the Azure Arachnia, came to power in the usual way - by poisoning their previous Broodmxter, and eating several of their rival Neogi.
Like most Neogi, they are a brutal and savage monster, though they are a touch more diplomatic and willing to bear the presence of races other than their precious Umber Hulk servants. The Arachnia is crewed by a mix of slaves, guarded by a handful of loyal ‘Hulks, and the Broodmxter keeps a handful of Neogi on board to send on boarding actions.
Keth bought their way into Blackjammers challenge in part with the head of the previous Broodmxter, whom had slighted Blackjammer publicly. Scuttle at Blackrock suggests the Dread Pirate Captain is not truly worthy of the title, and could not otherwise have earned their place amongst the others. This has lead them to overcompensate, and they have lost several boarding parties to barroom brawls and unsanctioned raids at the docks, leading to a crackdown on crew behaviour before the challenge begins.
Keth speaks poor common, often mixing the order of words or using completely incorrect words in conversation. Like their brethren, they blame this on the frailty of the slave-races minds and language, and take it out on others where it leads to embarrassment.
