Tuatarians

Tuatarians are a humanoid species with reptiloid features.

Basic Information

Anatomy

They have reptiloid features such as a scaly hide, a reptilian head with sharp teeth, clawed hands and feet, and a strong tail. They are excellent swimmers and can breathe underwater due to having lungs and gills. They are physically stronger than Humansbut also slightly less intelligent.

Genetics and Reproduction

Similar to Nagarians, they have short pregnancies with the egg, followed by a brooding period, which is significantly longer than the pregnancy. Their life expectancy is lower than Humans due to their bad living conditions. But even naturally, they would not get as old as Humans.

Ecology and Habitats

They live in the swamps of north-eastern Zang, because they need the humidity, they don't do well in dry regions. In these swamps they reproduce and their human masters don't really interfere, as long as they have enough slaves. They just come from time to time to keep down any uprising and to get the workable Tuatarians.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

They are fairly religious, as far as their masters allow them to. They pray to The LORD in hopes that he will one day free them. Many have just given up and simply accepted this life as a slave.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Their lower intelligence and the human superiority in technical aspects lead to most of them being enslaved by zangian Humans. Their abilities are used to fish for their masters or do laborious tasks such as building houses or similar tasks.
