Gray Gnolls

The Gray Gnolls are a disparate grouping of gnollish tribes to the northeast of the Taronian lands. Known to be even wilder than the Taronians, the gray gnolls are believed to neither read nor write, and stories abound of their savagery. Subsisting off a land which is too cold and hard to farm, the gray gnolls are so named for their environs, snowy wastes along frozen lakeshores. Rumor even has it that the gray gnolls eat foreigners who arrive in their lands, and even the Taronians fear them.

The apperance of the dragon Thatavor has isolated the gray gnolls even further, as the dragon's domain has cut them off from the rest of the world. However, rumor has it that they are no friendlier to the dragon's minions than they are to any other stranger.

Culture

Shared customary codes and values

The gray gnolls live primitive lives, disdaining any who they cannot recognize as their own tribe. Among the gray gnolls, the strongest gnoll rules the pack. It is believed that the gray gnolls' insularity even extends to others of their own species, and gray gnolls will kill and cannibalize even members of other clans and tribes of gray gnolls.

The gray gnolls may not understand trade, and certainly have no currency. Each tribe lives a purely survivalist existence, hunting in the frozen tundra and making their homes in caves or sometimes simple huts.
