The Era of Castigation

Description

The Era of Castigation is the period of Hyperion history about which the least is known. Spanning from the year 0 AD (The Fall of Saikar until roughly the end of the millenium with the rise of the The Saikar Coalition - S.A.C, this period was defined by a lack of central authority, catastrophic food shortages, extensive periods of inter-tribal wars, and the loss of understanding of, and access to, old Saikar technologies. Intraplanetary travel was non-existant, and the inhabitants of Hyperion reverted to an almost medieval style of life.

What few pieces of information are known about the time have been collected from company reports as the entities that would become the modern day megacorporations began forming, as well as hand written journals, and tax and census reports from the various places that established municipal and regional systems of governance.
