Blacksteel Industries
Description
Blacksteel Industries is Hyperion's most massive mining and manufacturing corporation, owning and operating every mine and factory established under the The Saikar Coalition - S.A.C umbrella, including all across Yridos, Bastion, Oria, and throughout the asteroid belt. They have full vertical integration, with elements of their company handling the raw materials, processing and refining them, and then manufacturing them into material goods.
Like the other corporations considered part of The Greater Guilds, Blacksteel does not specifically have their name on everything that they control, but rather their company owns a vast array of smaller corporations, who appear on the surface to operate independently, but who are beholden to the interests of Blacksteel, and thus The Board.
Blacksteel is primarily interested in their own profits, and while they are fuly dedicated and loyal to The Saikar Coalition - S.A.C, they view themselves as above the law. The company is not above undetaking illegal and immoral actions if it serves them, even if it is not sanctioned by the rest of the Board. They view their employees as expendable tools, easily replaced if they stop performing.

History
Blacksteel Industries was one of the founding companies that cropped up in the 500 years between The Fall of Saikar and the formation of the The Saikar Coalition - S.A.C. They initially made their money mining and manufacturing tools and weapons for the various scattered tribes across Yridos when the demand became high enough to warrant the outsourcing of such items. The grew rapidly, using a variety of shady business practices including war profiteering, manufactured shortages, and resource monopolies. When The S.A.C began their attempts at rebuilding the Saikar legacy, Blacksteel was one of the first companies approached with contracts and propsals designed to alleviate the resource intensive work of managing and controlling the entire system, and as such were granted an unrevokable seat on the Board.
