Sunderedge

The legendary sword Sunderedge was forged many ages ago by the dwarf Defribela Heavysunder. However, after toiling on her work through a year, she realized that she could think of no person worthy of wielding its power. Proclaiming that Sunderedge would move not as much as a centimeter until worthy hands held it, she stabbed it into her adamant anvil and left it in the wilds.   In 2921, Prince Rondan Kared was on his person quest to prove his worth as candidate for the throne. There he stumbled upon Sunderedge, still lodged in the adamant anvil, overgrown and forgotten. Sensing great power in it, Rondan grasped the hilt. And with great effort he pulled it from the anvil. His recovery of the blade was seen as proof of his prowess and worthiness as candidate for the throne.   Sunderedge is a truly massive greatsword that takes considerable strength to lift and wield with any proficiency. Being made of adamant, it slices through most other materials with ease, cutting through shield, armor and anyone using them. Its length and girth gives it a devastating arc that could strike down an entire group of people. However, being made from adamant, with adamant and on adamant, it has a strange reaction to the mystical metal. Overusing it against adamant weakens it, to the point that it would eventually be possible to break the mystical blade.

The sword was forged over countless days and nights, hammered out on an adamant anvil at the intersection of several leylines.
