The Temple

The Temple of Yamato is a large temple to the gods of the Hurikami and the spirit of the Astral Dragon Yamato, who is treated as a sort of saint of Bahamut, a spirit that can be expected to operate in the interest of and intercede with Bahamut.

The high priest of the temple is Noriko Brightforge, a serious and austere presence, her steel gray braid matching the severity and restraint she promotes in all things. She busies herself with prayer and weighty matters of faith, leaving the operation of the temple and adjoining hall of healing to her subordinate, Brother Sado, a bald, nearsighted dwarf who loves strong drink and his role as chief healer for the ship.

Sado has a few other young clerics and medics working with him, as well as a loyal trio of autognome brewers and tinkerers who help keep the temple up, the distillery cooking, and Sado in good spirits.

Yamato (the Spirit) and the Temple

The ancient dragon that powers the Yamato is tied to the ship in spirit, and the dragon is easiest to connect with and speak to in the temple, as this is where the spirit's attention is focused most of the time. Sado and Yamato have a strong relationship, and the two share a wicked, broad sense of humor -- something that Yamato shares with very few others on the ship.
