The Gun Deck

The gun deck is the main open central deck of the ship, dominated by the thick masts and the massive Giff Cannon that provide the largest of the more conventional armaments on the ship. The Giff contingent is always present in some form, and they spend a great deal of time polishing the guns and exercising the gears and pullies that allow them to rotate and bear on targets to either broadside of the ship. These guns are fed by the Powder magazine, which is staged just one deck below the central Giff canon.
