Military: Skirmish

While space exploration is raging, the various powers are trying to claim as much territory as possible on the Moon and Mars, which are currently the only celestial bodies within reach of humanity for colonisation and permanent settlements. This race for territory will lead to an incident between China and the United States on the Moon. An American prospecting team will chase the Chinese from a site they planned to exploit, considering that it is in the territory of an American lunar base. The Chinese will then retaliate by shooting on the prospecting team which will cause deaths, multiple skirmishes will then break out on the Moon and on Earth, especially near the Taiwan Strait, between the Chinese and the American. Tensions will then rise and will almost trigger an open war, but it is at this point that the countries will be shaken by multiple movements of protests which will force them to negotiate a white peace. There was also some international pressure for negotiations, with other countries fearing an escalation into nuclear conflict. This incident will mark a turning point in the international perception of the two belligerents facilitating UN reforms by increasing pressure for change and accentuating unrest with the population who do not want war.
