Rillis
Colony founded in 2216, it will very quickly be used by the Republic as a logistical base for the colonization of the rest of the Baxel sector. Mainly due to its strategic position in the sector and the whole Republic with his proximity with Earth. Today, it is a major hub for trade as well as regional transport, an essential military center for the Navy and an imposing population center.
Demographics
Rillis has a total population of 5.5 billion which is made up entirely of humans, the capital and main city on the planet is Idris which also hosts the main spaceport on this one. The rest of the population is concentrated in many cities of different sizes all around the planet. However, unlike other planets, the oceanic nature of Rillis means that it has fewer cities and they are generally larger as well as very dense to accommodate all the population.
Government
The capital of the planetary government of Rillis is located in Idris, the city contains the planetary court, the offices of the executive and the planetary assembly and all the institutions necessary for the proper functioning of the government as well as the ones of the Baxel sector. The executive apparatus is made up of the representative of the planet which is called an Intendant and the various departments which deal with the competences which are allotted to the planet.
Defences
Rillis can count on the protection of the 3rd Fleet for its defense, there homebase is Naval Base Mirzaei which is in orbit of the planet. The planet is also defended by the Army and the Air Force whose task is to defend it against any invasion attempt. Some Marine Force and Task Force units are also stationed on the planet. Rillis like all important inhabited planets of the Republic is equipped with an Orbital Defense System (ODS) which is made up of several orbital cannons used to support Navy vessels in the event of an attack.
Industry & Trade
Being the capital of the Baxel sector, Rillis is at the center of many local trade routes, the system of which is also crossed by two Space Routes which thus pass through Rillis. The planet is also considered an important center of industrial production, particularly in the agri-food sector with its local production of fish farming which allows it to be a rare planet to export food in quantity.
Infrastructure
The oceans which divide the different cities of the planet have made it impossible to establish a train network like other planets, which is why intercity connections are all made by supersonic plane or by boats which are more often used for transport goods. It also has four spaceports with the largest and most important being in Idris as well as the same number of orbital stations. The last are for receive ships that cannot land on the planet because of their excessive mass.
Architecture
The cities of Rillis are like all the republican cities, they have a lot of vegetation, use a lot of glass and carbon fiber materials on mid-rise or high-rise buildings. Transparent solar panels are also inserted in the windows which reduces the energy consumption of buildings. Although efforts are often made to keep a reasonable scale, the central districts of republican cities are often made up of very tall buildings with extravagant shapes which can sometimes form several urban floors. However, the peripheral districts are more generally made up of medium-sized buildings and for the parts on the border, we see more low density with only a few floors. With the oceans severely limiting the available space, the cities of Rillis are much denser and generally even have underwater parts.
Geography
Made up of a surface covered by 95% water, the geography of the planet is mainly made up of oceans having the particularity of not being too deep which has favored the appearance of a rich marine life. As for the emerged lands, most of them are islands grouped together in archipelagos made up of coastal plains with varied reliefs, but which are generally not very rugged due to erosion. This geography favors agriculture around large urban centers which are located on the bigger islands in the center of an archipelago.
Natural Resources
Rillis has few exploitable natural resources other than its fertile lands since the oceans block their exploitation which, in any case, would not really be possible. Indeed, most of the raw materials come from space to avoid the environmental damage that the exploitation of these would cause on the planet.
