The Psionic Memory Network

Overview

The Psionic Memory Network (Psi-Net) is the primary source of communication and data archive for the Eris. It handles all lines of communication through some form of telepathy developed over many centuries on their homeworld. With the addition of many more worlds under control of the Alvorian Empire the network has vastly expanded to each controlled system allowing for a near instant form of communication.

Uses

The network acts as both the central hub of data in the empire as well as its source of communication. Eris can upload a memory of their choice to the network with ease that others might experience. Knowledge for the Eris is almost always experienced rather than read up on. Most civilian uses are for social interaction, learning, and communication. The military makes much use of the net as a near instantaneous mode of scouting information and fleet movements. The leadership can effortlessly and from great distances interact with those in the field.

Theories

Many of the more paranoid Eris in the empire have been noted to say that there isn't just memories out there in the network but personalities perhaps even conscious bodiless Eris. Some have reported that there are whispers in the network of something greater. the empire does not formally address these concerns only stating that it is speculation and that the engineers and seers of the empire work to maintain the memories in the network.    Some speculate there are Eris that are in the know of something more within the network something that might've influenced the Unity that seeks to make it something more. Currently these opinions are waved off.

Access & Availability
Access of the network varies based on the individual in the empire. The military has their own sectioned off area of the net, while civilian use which is more heavily utilized occupies a vast majority of the space used.
Complexity
The network is vastly complex and involves the employment of a third of the overall Eris population. Each point of the network id connected to a hub, these are typically located in most towns from the smallest rural areas to the largest of Mega-cities.
Discovery
The network in some capacity can be traced back into antiquity through the use of Erissi 'Seers'. Eris whose job was to collect the memories of the elders of their early civilization. While not all of these memories survived, quite a few have made it to the current day.
