Prodromus
Prodromus is a K1 V Orange Main Sequence Star with seven planets, all terrestrial planets getting progressively icier the further they are from the star.
The third planet, long studied by the people of Arrak, is indeed a habitable world not all that different than their own. Studies of the planet reveal however that they are not the first to desire this planet as a colony. There appear to be a number of sophisticated structures across the planet, but the wear and tear of over ten thousand years has rendered most of it nothing more than scrap that has been claimed by the thick jungles.
The researchers are also surprised to find the second planet from the star also has a breathable atmosphere, though it boasts a higher temperature, and is almost twice the size of Arrak. While not ideal for supporting life, it does have a limited biosphere, and seems to be rich in metallic deposits. Whatever species once claimed its sister planet seem to have set up mines which should prove somewhat re-usable.
