Given the initial disasters in space travel for the empire the government puts their defense as 'having spared no expense' They are equipped with the standard planetary shields common on all empire colonized worlds. There are many beam and plasma defense installations both around Ezesa itself and in and around the giant city.  The planetary government employs a small fleet of military grade star ships in the system that perform regular patrols.

History

Ozada was the first off system settlement of the empire after their initial disasters into space travel. However this location was founded in a much more dense environment and in territory familiar to the Erissi. Once the planetary shield was online the city experienced explosive growth and quickly became a location that many on the homeworld would visit on vacations. Many saw the allure of having visited another star system. In recent years and with the large expansion of the empire tourism to this city has slowed but remains very steady. It still boasts as the city government calls it 'the most luxurious destination outside of the home systems.' 
Given the great success of this initial settlement to nearly planet encompassing city it has become quite the symbol for the Erissi progress into the stars, granting it the informal name of ' The Jewel of the Empire'

Tourism

Tourism went through a great boom in this city leading to many moving in permanently, they often advertise the novelty of having left the home system. While tourism has slowed in favor of the many other more recent colonized worlds it still remains quite steady and is a great hub for civilian travel.
