Khaydaar

The Khaydaar, commonly known as "Space Crystals" are an exotic form of life that prefers not to interact with the more conventional life that fills the galaxy. They generally keep to themselves, slowly devouring uninhabited planets. In time, they eventually break apart with age, forming new planets.
Due to their crystalline nature (and relation to Khaydarin Crystal), the Akhaale believed them to be related to their god, Hadar, and are the origins of their name. Species found harming the Khaydaar could expect the wrath of the Akhaale, while the Akhaale themselves set up temples to observe them.
They are believed to originate from NGC 5195 (also known as Messier 51b) the Dwarf Galaxy that intersects with the galactic north east.
