The Thunese government is mostly controlled by a parliament the main executive and legislative body on the planet
The Government is seated on the planet Thunus, with the city Neburn being the capital, and only holds power in its territories. It is only a planetary government and has a representative on the
Galactic Coalition's High Council.
Thunese Parlament
The Thunses Parliament is a council made up of people from one of each of the planet’s sectors, it is headed by a prime minister. The Parliament is in charge of making and enforcing the laws that are decided upon for the planet.
The Parliament members are elected by the public but often have their elections and careers backed by the guilds or by Thunese bureaucrats so they may be influenced by forces other than the public.
The Guild System
The Thunese guild system is a class system that involves people being members of career guilds. These career guilds control great portions of Thunus’s economy and sway over the government, with many of the Guild positions also being hereditary.
Most people of Thunese society are members of one of the guilds or work for a business that is part of the guild. It is unlikely for someone to open a business on Thunus without being a member of the appropriate guild, if it does happen they are normally forced out of business by the guild shops.
Many guild positions are hereditary, with children of members being much more likely to be accepted into the guild and receiving proper support and training. This has led to the rise of prominent guild families that are very rich and powerful, often also holding political positions and some on the Thunese Parliament. Family members will often belong to the same guild, with it being rare and highly looked down upon for a member of the family to choose a different guild.
Thunese Constitutional Monarchy
The King or Queen of Thunus is the title held by the historical sovereign of Thunus. The title is hereditary passing down from the parent to the eldest child or to the closest living family member in line for the throne.
Historically, the King/Queen of Thunus wielded much more power over the planet, but for the past few centuries, the position has been constitutional and mostly powerless, replaced by the Thunese parliament. The King/Queen still holds some sway over the government, mostly by influencing and swaying politicians in parliament and in the Guilds.
