Kisati

The continent of Atha has numerous large rivers sectioning off its various lands. Trade is important, and the rivers are the highways upon which lives are made. While navigating downstream is relatively easy, navigating upstream was a constant challenge. Boats would have to be towed, pushed, or otherwise taken out of the river entirely and carried, rendering the entire point of using a water vehicle pointless. This was the norm for many years, until a particularly inspired (and brave) trader's wares managed to catch the eye of a Water Havoc, who was persuaded to part with a small fragment of elemental energy. This shard of energy was incorporated into the boat, and thus the Water Kisati was born - a vehicle capable of travel by redirecting the flow of water underneath itself. Years later, a different variation was created - the Air Kisati, which travels by pushing air into the sails of a ship.

Propulsion

Depending on the model, a Kisati has two forms of propulsion, each powered by a shard of elemental energy referred to as a battery. Water batteries are placed underneath the Kisati, and operate by transforming the motion of the water surrounding it to match its signature. An air battery performs a similar function; placed behind the sails of a ship, it operates by transforming the motion of the wind surrounding it to match its signature.

Weapons & Armament

As Kisati are trade ships, most do not have any weapons or armament to speak of. A trader may well keep a sword onboard in case brigands attempt to relieve them of their goods, but as there are no tides to be destroyed by and no sea creatures to attack the ship during its journey, but owners of a Kisati are far more likely to hire on mercenaries to act as bodyguards than add any automated defenses.
