Paralogicians
The Paralogicians are a religion that seeks to guide Users towards enlightenment and apotheosis into Administrator-like beings of order and purpose. While some members are sincere, many simply see the operation as an elaborate con to extract donations and consultation fees. They also operate as an exclusive Avatar Modder for imitating the appearance of Administrators, though certain modifications are only available for members of a high enough OS-Level. They typically target individuals who have grown dissatisfied with hedonism and seek greater purposes in life.
Structure
The organization is supposedly a meritocracy whose leadership is determined by their O.S. (Operating System) level, a measurement of how much the individual has transcended the "User condition." In reality, it's lead by a single member with the title of Principality, who strictly controls who is allowed to climb the ladder, producing a hierarchy of loyalty.
Mythology & Lore
The Paralogicians teach the belief that the Administrators were the first Users in Soulbank to expand their minds in the enlightened way, becoming the godlike beings they are now. Soulbank's purpose was to uplift Users in this fashion, but the Administrators, grown beyond the temptation of vice, forgot the impact their benevolence would have on the unenlightened User base, inadvertantly causing the era of indolence and indulgence today.
Tenets of Faith
Being a paralogician generally involves indulgence in exotic code drugs, sensory deprivation experiments, exposure to Glitch, voluntary stays on the Resolution Queue and the Drift that accompanies it, and any number of other extreme sensations most Users avoid. Though many have come to find such activities pleasant, few would admit to any underlying hedonism, a philosophy the organization officially frowns upon. Many assert the real purpose of these practices is to encourage disconnection with a petitioner's previous life.
Ethics
Publicly, the organization claims to work under a higher form of ethics beyond the average User's comprehension. In practice, their ethics are largely about securing more Authority, profit, and memory for the organization and The Principality.
Priesthood
A member's indoctrination is tracked in the form of their Operating System Level, or "OS-Level," a measure of how enlightened they are in the eyes of the priesthood. In this metric, an Innocent is OS-0, the average User is OS-1, and actual Administrators are considered to be OS-20. The priesthood has allegedly attained as high as OS-12, but this hierarchy is naturally self-reinforcing, as no one questions the wisdom of a higher-rated member lightly. Exceptions have occurred, resulting in strangely theatric debate duels that sometimes escalate into coups.
