Kalashtar

The kalashtar are a compound race created from the union of humanity and renegade spirits from the Plane of Dreams — spirits called quori. Kalashtar are often seen as wise, spiritual people with great compassion for others. But there is an unmistakable alien quality to the kalashtar, as they are haunted by the conflicts of their otherworldly spirits. They make up the affluent, ruling class of Halcyon.

Their species is believed to have begun with the divine incarnation of God-Emperor Tyrannus , who helped imbue the early ancestors of humans with the power of the Plane of Dreams, creating the kalashtar race of Nemesis. The word kalashtar means "wandering dreams" in the quori language.

Kalashtar are given the unique classification of ultra-superior due to their lineage shared with the God-Emperor. All Kalashtar of Halcyon are of some noble standing and are even considered as divine beings by some of the inferior races.
