Zaphriks

Zaphriks is a powerful Ulitharid who was stranded off the Gatharan Peninsula after its nautiloid was attacked by Githyanki 20 years ago. Zaphriks used its incredible cunning to escape a gruesome death at the hands of the Githyankii and fled to the dark of the Lothian Break. There, it spawned a collection of tadpoles one year later and began transforming Lothians into Illithids under its thrall. Before long, it had amassed a force powerful enough to wrest control of the Lothian city Evarial from its occupants, transforming the area into a colony of its own.
For another two years Zaphriks grew its colony further, until it was discovered by the Silent Hand. A fierce conflict erupted, and many lives were lost on both sides. Zaphriks' colony would have been destroyed were it not for the intervention of the Master of Truth himself, who suggested the Hand use Zaphriks' psionic powers to help them commune with the mysterious power at the heart of the world.
Zaphriks resented the idea of serving a master, but he knew it was his only chance at survival. He agreed to the terms of the offer, and the Master of Truth appointed Brenwyn Petalborn as the Hand's liason to Zaphriks. The Hand assisted Zaphriks in transforming the castle in Evarial into a suitable communion chamber, and Brenwyn instructed Dark Elves to capture suitable minds from the Overland, delivering them to Zaphriks in its lair to be used to commune with the mysterious power.
While Zaphriks has been faithfully upholding its end of the bargain with the Hand, it secretly pursues another goal. It plans to transform into an Elder Brain to expand its dominion, but in order to achieve this goal it must first kill Brenwyn Petalborn. Zaphriks knows that Brenwyn suffered a defeat in Fanatheas and now has no remaining safeguards to protect her from her ultimate demise. In secret, Zaphriks has located Brenwyn's home in Gehenna by probing her mind for many years. If it had a servant who could travel to Gehenna, that servant could kill Brenwyn once and for all by summoning her into her home.
Once Brenwyn is dead, Zaphriks will immediately begin its transformation into an Elder Brain, withdrawing all its Illithid servants to Evarial to protect it for an entire month while the transformation occurs. Zaphriks suspects that the power released during the transformation will likely be enough to draw Githyanki back to Sorrend to kill him, and has planned for this. Within its colony, Zaphriks has secretly created four Ettin Ceremorphs, which will aid in restraining a dragon and taking it captive. These transformed Ettins will bring the dragon to the brine pool, and as soon as Zaphriks emerges as an elder brain it will latch onto the dragon, transforming it into Zatrioks, Elder Brain Dragon.
