Faircrest Theatre Building / Landmark in Sonnerand | World Anvil

Faircrest Theatre

In the cramped confines of the close-knit buildings of the Gem Quarter, real estate is often hard to find. Empty plots of the Gem Quarter are rented out to bidders that pay exorbitant prices to construct temporary establishments. These non-permanent buildings are just as grand and resplendent as the other buildings in the Gem Quarter, such is the case with the recently erected Faircrest Theatre.   The most current in a long line of pricey events and shows put on in the Gem Quarter, Faircrest Theatre is located close to the intersection of the Quartz Highway and the Gold Trail. The owner and proprietor, Kane Faircrest, has been eager to announce the showcase of plays, ballets, and performances he's putting on in his theatre.

Purpose / Function

The Faircrest Theatre is a savory hall of magnificence and comfort. Though it is not a permanent fixture within the Gem Quarter, its walls and interior are extravagant enough to go toe-to-toe with the other buildings around it. Kane Faircrest, the renter, purchased and constructed the temporary theatre in a ploy to gain political influence.   Mr. Faircrest's run of plays is one of the finest in recent memory, with over 30 shows for visitors to see. The theatre is also a love-letter to Mr. Faircrest's wife, Daisy, and her love of the arts.

Architecture

The building is made of wood, contrasting the permanent stone buildings of the Gem Quarter. The backside of the theatre is domed to aid in acoustics, giving the building a raised bulging look to its back-side roof. Elegant glass and wood doors with tasteful filigree mark the main entrance while the interior is lined in hues of crimson and gold.

Defenses

None; it's more of a fire hazard than anything.
