Known History

This article is a very condensed history of the world as it is known from most people of the Eldwell Empire .

Prehistory (Before 300 BF)

Very little is known about this period of time. This is the time that people used to roam the lands as roving bands of hunter gatherers and only a very small of agricultural settlements existed

Age of Exploration (270 BF - 0 AF)

During the age of Exploration the people of the first city Alada, started to travel around the world discovering the continents and exploring deep into their own continent. Writing is used for the first time and history is recorded. There were some wars between the people of the city state of Alada and the "Island people"

As the age of exploration was coming to an end some people started to leave Alada in search of new opportunities

The Modern Times (0 - 560 AF)

It is during modern times the first Independent City-States of the world were established, these City states will grow in power subsuming smaller populations and minor powers around them for the coming years. Some local wars were fought and there are records of at least one major plague that killed off a large number of the population of the whole world.

This is the time of Myths and Legends. Heroes from far away lands leading people to salvation, fighting sea monsters and dragons on high mountains

The Age of Empires (560-1819 AF)

During the Age of the Empire the modern nations one by one are established, starting the the first kingdom the, Kingdom of Ashewull (now its remnants are known as the Ashwall Republic ) followed by the Yin Empire (now known as Yun Sacred Empire ) the Kingdom of Eldwell (now Eldwell Empire), the Kingdom of Leadenward and finally the Kingdom of Espen and the Leidenstein Consortium the first Corporation-Nation.

The Burn (1819 - 1827 AF)

During The Burn the world was plagued by droughts, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and finally a the melting of the icecaps of the planet that drowned most of the world.

Apart from decimating the world population and destroying centuries of progress the Burn also became the trigger point for the greatest Alsian migration in the known history of the world, when almost 1/4 of the remaining population of the Eldwell empire followed Samuel Bartholomew Hawk into the exodus that gave birth to the Kelean Mandate, a fundamentalist theocracy that followed the interpreted teachings of an ancient artifact called the The Sundial

Another extremely important event during this time was the discovery of Electrum and its properties that gave rise to the new science of Alchemy. Alchemists are known to investigate ancient secrets from the libraries of Alada and religious texts from the Church of Solis to make sense of this new science.

Current ( 1827 - 1870 AF)

Almost 40 years ago a world changing event called The Burn completely changed the world by killing more than 90% of the population of Nyria and drowning underwater most of the landmasses.

For the first years after the Burn the survivors managed to rebuild by focusing on saving themselves and their loved ones and only the last 15 years or so actual communication between the powers and the people of the world has been re-established. The Eldwell Empire has only recently established new diplomatic agreements with the Thierry Free States and the Kingdom of Espen while stories for afar talk about a new power being established called The Iron Crusade. Finally in the last days of the year 1869 the Yun Sacred Empire the northern giant has made its first endeavours to open official diplomatic relations with the rest of the world

The only tragic exception to this isolation referred to as the "Age of Silence" was the The Leidenstein - Eldwell war that began during the burn and one way or another has continued uninterrupted to this day.
