Operation Details

From Klarion:   Early this morning, we were met with Captain Tel, who gave us our briefing. As we were waiting at the campfire, we heard what sounded like an argument from the tent before she briefed us. Tel told us that we would be retrieving one Wavering Psalm, a changeling that was a former comrade of Major Rem. She informed us his ship had been wrecked somewhere to the northwest, and that we would work with the Horsian navy to retrieve him.     We met with Horsa's naval commander, Rory, who told us our ship would be north of Cobh. On the road in the forest, we passed the Council of Kobolds, as well as an area with particularly strange shadows. By the time we found the ship, a rain storm had begun. We all managed to swim to the ship none the worse off, and met the ship's captain Tyler.     As we traveled, Doc traveled up the crow's nest and identified skywriting pointing us in the direction we needed to go. At that time, we encountered a massive chasm of water. Aujirix volunteered to swim into it like an idiot, but thankfully it turned out to be an illusion. HALe bribed Captain Tyler way too much for them to stay half the day, and we went in.     A trio of islands awaited us, or at least what could legally be called islands. More like large patches of sand, really. Anyway, Wavering eventually revealed himself. Quite the He seemed an amiable fellow, interesting at least. We also discovered a buried treasure, like pirates. Inside we found a sack of coins that we split, a glass sword, and a strange amulet.     As we left, we were attacked by a trio of watery wolf creatures, as well as a pair of shadow dogs that emerged from Aujirix and Doc. We killed them fairly quickly, although one shadow hound seemed to enter Doc. The rest of the trip remained uneventful, save for Doc spotting a trio of ships heading towards Caer Callidyrr, and we arrived at Vegapath slightly after nightfall.     From HALe:   We met with CPT Tel whom gave us our morning briefing. We were to go and retrieve Wavering Psalm a changeling friend of MAJ Rem. We were informed that the ship he had been traveling on experienced an issue and caused him to become ship-wrecked. She mentioned that there would be a sign in the sky (he knows the spell Skywrite).   She also told us, we would be meeting with Rory, the Cmdr. of the Horsa forces as they were ones that were going to transporting us to Wavering Psalm. Meeting with Rory, he told us the ship’s Captain was named Tyler and that he would be a bit North of Cobh.   We left camp and traveled East, then Northeast. We ran into the rumored Kobolds. We were fortunate that one of our members had encountered them before, and they told us: The kobolds apparently want a performance or a gift. They will judge the item or performance and let you pass. No one has failed to impress them yet apparently, so we don’t know what happens if someone fails. With this knowledge we went past them and then continued east once we were sufficiently past them.   We ran into some seemingly weird shadow creatures that caused a couple people’s shadows to be odd. More to come on that later.   We made it to the mini cove and managed to make our way onto the ship after some tough swimming. We spoke to the first mate named Barra. We then went and sailed East. Eventually we ran noticed an Arrow in the sky pointing us in the direction. As we followed the arrow, we ran into this chasm in the ocean. This turned out to be an illusion, but it took us a bit to realize that, We apparently made Wavering a little annoyed as the arrow changed to the words “…Not the boat”, implying he did not want us to bring the boat there. I bribed the ship’s crew 200 GP. to get them to stay and wait for us for the rest of the day.   We swam through the illusion and noticed three small islands. One was tiny, the other two were larger and similar sized. We ran into Wavering Psalm, whom is very good with illusions. He was exhausted and dehydrated. We gave him some of the blessed fountain water (from Chauntea’s fountain) that I had in my water skin. He had about one-third of a full waterskin.   I cast Water Walk on everyone. At that point we were attacked by 3 weird fish lizards and 2 shadows (see previous mention of shadows). We managed to kill all the lizards and one of shadows. One of the shadows entered Doc and seemed to not have any effect. Seeing no effect, we walked back to the boat. While we were on the boat, Wavering Psalm passed out due to exhaustion.   Then we made it back to the cove, and swam back to the land. We then avoided the Kobolds again and made it back to the camp. Upon returning to the camp MAJ and CPT treated Wavering Psalm and took him for further treatment.
