House Marin

House Marin emerged from the ashes of Stagford’s destruction. Previously governed by a council of lords, with Duke Highmast at its head, the city was ravaged by the recent war, resulting in the council’s collapse. Following the devastation, the surviving members of the council, united by Lady Elowen Marin, formed a new house to lead the effort to rebuild Stagford and provide stability to its people.
Stagford, once a bustling center for trade and governance, now stands as a region in transition. The Marin's are focused on reconstructing vital infrastructure, establishing new trade routes, and rebuilding community trust. Lady Elowen has worked to do so by working closely with Queen Ophelia, tapping intot he regions rich history to extract resources amidst Aethelar and Holyhead's destruction.

Current Leadership

Countess of Stagford Elowen Highvale

Appearance: Regal and determined, with dark hair worn simply, gray eyes that reflect quiet strength, and often dressed in practical attire suited for hands-on leadership.
Background: As one of the last to leave Aithelar, Elowen, along with the other survivors was led through a gauntlet of supernatural horrors and unimaginable danger. The dark encounters with creatures and psychic horrors took a toll on her spirit, but her courage and resourcefulness kept her grounded. Despite losing Lord Highmast and much of the council, she managed to rally the remaining leaders, forming House Marin from the council’s remnants.

Governance and Policies

With both main towns in the region lost to the encroaching Shifting Sands of Yesh, Lady Elowen’s governance focuses on survival and resource extraction. In a strategic move to ensure Stagford’s continued viability, she has partnered with Queen Ophelia to facilitate organized and sustainable extraction of resources from the surrounding lands. This partnership brings stability to the region by providing Stagford with vital materials and supplies needed for reconstruction, while offering Queen Ophelia access to raw materials otherwise lost to the sands.

Resource Management

Lady Elowen has organized teams of resource gatherers, miners, and skilled laborers who operate in shifts to safely retrieve resources near the shifting sands, working with Queen Ophelia’s specialists to ensure that operations do not destabilize the area further. To protect the extraction sites and workers from the unpredictable sands, she has stationed Sir Gregor Hill and a well-trained militia in key locations, ensuring safe passage for all involved.

Governance Council and Advisors

In place of the former council, Elowen maintains a governance council of advisors who oversee specific aspects of this new venture:
Lord Arvid Tidecaller: Manages logistical planning and construction within Stagford, coordinating closely with resource extraction efforts to keep supplies flowing.
Lady Lora Saltwind: Oversees trade and ensures the fair distribution of extracted resources, working to establish trade routes that reinforce Stagford’s economic stability.
Sir Gregor Hill: Leads the militia responsible for securing the resource extraction areas, protecting workers and maintaining order along the extraction and trade routes.
