Look at portals in Hickorydale; figure out what on other side and eliminate if possibleObservations
Ummmm hello reader. I am Teddie. Teddie does not remember much of Feywild, only have notes of Teddie and Elf Archer Man and Luminos' memories. Teddie will tell reader about Hickorydale things first.Teddie and friends went to Hickorydale. Teddie fall asleep when teleported. Teddie got scary vision, of stone ruins in mountains. Lake was between building and Teddie. Ruins were covered in massive vines, with wilting flowers and moss. Sky was hazy and rest of land around Teddie was barren.
Voice in Teddie head told Teddie "Now now, I thought I warned you to stay away. Not you, your silly little friends. I guess they didn't tell anyonre. Or maybe you didn't listen. Either way, you're here. Pity. Seems the rest are still intended to go where you go. We could've had so much fun. I would like to give you another warning, but I think we are past that. And I do not like to give second chances. So, I certainly wish you luck." Teddie then woke up.
Hickorydale is worse according to Elf Archer Man. People not talk good at all, in fragments. Dickens saw no magic on them, and Teddie and Luminos and Elf Archer man did not recognize as Feywild sickness. Group explored barracks of Hickorydale guard post. Inside were people that pretend to play cards and drink. When others went upstairs and Teddie hid, Teddie saw the people freeze in position. Did not unfreeze until others came back down. Only move when people around. Elf Archer Man had messed with cards and Luminos had opened kitchen door, but when others left cards fixed themselves and door closed by itself.
Went to tavern portal instead of field portal. Garden inside and outside, with trees doing better than should in winter. Tavern is empty except for bartender and lady in kitchen. Teddie suspect that bartender and lady are frozen until people arrive too. Could not confirm because Teddie was caught trying to hide when others left. Teddie left gold and took three bottles, bartender did not take gold while Teddie there. Elf Archer man found map of Hickorydale.
Teddie not really know what happen next. Teddie and friends found a hot tub in tavern. Luminos says hot tub was portal. Teddie only remember waking up in hot tub as if taking nap.
Teddie and Elf Archer Man's notes says Teddie and friends met couple, Phil and Mae. Phil had necromancy thing in chest, but Luminos not know more than that. Dickens did spells, but did not work to remove. Met Feywild doctor, did not know what wrong either. Elf Archer Man try to stab Phil, but Teddie stop. Also Teddie met Shapechange Lady who was also Elf Archer Man. Teddie let Shapechange Lady turn into Teddie, now she can be Teddie 2.
Teddie and others then left Feywild. Teddie saw gold left at bar was taken.
P.S.
When Teddie and Elf Archer Man return to fort, Teddie's drinks and Elf Archer Man's map were gone.
Follow up
Group must still see field portal.If go back through tavern portal, bring someone smart with magic or medicine. Teddie want to help Phil cure whatever wrong with Phil. Maybe go to Phil's workplace, see if things bad there. If not there, maybe let Dwarf Doctor Man or Dickens perform surgery. Do not bring Elf Archer Man, Elf Archer Man too reckless for Feywild. Elf Archer Man try to stab Phil, and Elf Archer Man does not let Teddie use name when other soldiers do. Teddie has read other mission reports; Teddie does not think Elf Archer Man should be unwatched when outside fort.
