Operation Details

We were tasked with investigating and cleansing an Elven ruin North West of Ogden. The results of this mission had the potential to create an ally for the Fort with its completion. It also gave us an opportunity to check on the area.   We worked our way west to Ogden. We spoke with Davos and he gave us some interesting information. A “Blond shit” came through talking about a blown-up cart. I suspect this is the cart that blew up on the way to Holyhead. Whoops.   Leaving Ogden, and heading toward the stone circle we encountered a Kobold. This Kobold was wearing a black cloak with iconography of the Umberlee on it. On his back was a massive hammer with gold filigree and Umberlee iconography. This Kobold seemed to be maintaining or building a shrine to the Umberlee (note 1). He called himself Hammer? Or maybe he decided his name was Hammer? Or maybe he can only say his weapon, which was a Hammer. I don’t know. It decided to follow us the rest of the mission.   We made it to the stone circle. There an Elf revealed himself to us. We would later find that his name was Jericho. He told us more information about the Elven ruins. He mentioned that there was a manifestation of anger that still resided there. He did mention it was not directly related to the crossroads.   We traveled north to the ruins. In front of the ruins was a pool of water that was blessed in a beneficial way. The ruins had a door that was not connected to the entrance, and was left propped open to the side of the entrance way. The ruins appeared to be a ruin to the Earthmother, also known as Chauntea.   The entrance led to a tunnel that brought us to an open area with ruins and many spirits. Upon starting a fight with a couple of them, all of the spirits started to move towards us. We made a tactical rush forward towards another tunnel that we noticed had no spirits near it. As we made it to the tunnel, it appeared that something was repelling the spirits from the tunnel.   We made it to a little in-between point as the next room in front of us had a large temple. In this temple was a tree. Xion spoke with the tree. It seemed to respond. Unfortunately, after each seeming response by the tree, we were assaulted by numerous humanoid creatures seemingly made of plants, vines, and thorns. There was also an encroaching wall of vines and foliage that seemed dangerous that would get closer and closer to us with each seeming wave of creations.   We managed to complete this ‘test’ or whatever it was, and saw a sword that was claimed by Xion. After this we left the temple and headed back towards the ruins. We went back to the ruins to find ‘Hammer’ had deal with the spirits. At this point some of my companions decided to heal Hammer and talk with him. After a couple moments of incredulity, I decided to start heading back to camp. Apparently whatever they were conversing about was interesting or something because my companions seemed to loiter back there for an unreasonable amount of time. I assumed things were not going well and called for them to get a move on.   Due to my slower pace, they all managed to catch up to me. We made our way back to the stone circle and spoke with Jericho again. He gave Xion a bunch of information regarding the sword. We then made our way back to Ogden and then camp. The rest of the trip was uneventful.   Our return home was uneventful, and we were able to make it back around 7pm. We mentioned all of this to the CAP Tel.
