Statue of Memorial

The Statue of Memorial was constructed a few years after the end of the civil war and the formation of the Empire of Earth, the statue is placed on the site where Berlin was formerly located.   The statue has the shape of the solar system with the planets where major battles of the civil war took place, and the planets' orbits contain small stars that represent space battles that took place in the orbit of the planets. Instead of the Sun in the centre of the statue, the planets instead orbit a personification of Earth dressed to represent the goddess Victoria, the choice of having Earth in the shape of Gaia at the centre, was said to represent Earth's victory in the civil war.   The statue was created when the parliament on the recommendation of the newly elected Emperor Drake, the choice of artist fell on one German artist Ferdinand Heidenreich who was in Sydney at the time of the attack on Berlin and while some have called the election of a german as the artist was rigged, the majority of people felt that it was the right choice to have a german create the memorial for the attack that started the civil war.   On the day of Earth's victory in the war, the statue is decorated with flags and parades and speeches are held around it.   The statue was represented on coins in 2365 as part if the memorial of the 50th anniversary of Earth's victory.   Over the years since the reveal of the statue, copies of the statue have spread out to other colonies, most of the colonies that have a copy of the statue also have a large representation of Germans who wishes to remember.

Oh noo, Berlin!   The statue sounds beautiful though. I like the detail that it has spread through copies.
