Keryth IV
Keryth is a settlement located on the planet of Keryth IV, a temperate world located right between the outer and inner colonies of the Empire of Earth
The settlement itself is a carefully planned one, blending its practical infrastructure with some aesthetic design. The centre of the settlement houses the planetary governors' house, administrative offices and the Imperial tribunal. In the new city district, the Commerce Plaza is located, with its bustling trade with open-air markets and guild headquarters.
Society and Culture
Kerith prides itself on being the "Breadbasket of the Mid-Imperium" as they like to call it, the population likes to imagine themself as hardworking and has a reputation of looking down on other citizens who don't do the same amount of backbreaking labour as those from Keryth. Every so often there are tensions between the workers and the officials as the workers feel exploited and these tensions can sometimes lead to strikes and riots, although it's rare that it goes that far and it is typically handled swiftly and both sides tend to be happy for a time. The level of corruption is low for an agricultural world, some regional officials skim some profit from the trade but it's minor and Earth tends to let the governor handle it.Strategic Importance
The strategic location right between the inner and outer colonies combined with its ability to feed a large amount of people make the system a key asset for the Empire, the starport facilities are home to a sizeable garrison fleet consisting of a squadron of corvettes and three frigates, while on the ground a detachment of Marines are stationed just east of the main city on the planet.Geography
The planet have a moderate temperature with frequent rainstorms, all this help to create fertile environments like the rolling planes of golden grassland in between dense forests, crisscrossed by freshwater rivers and canals.
