Zilra Daemon

(the Daemon of the West)

"Zilra Daemon, or the Daemon of Soul. We Dosra envy the Zilra, for they look closest to our shared ancestor than us. Instead, we have the Veremon's visage. Many of us try to leave our homeland, but it has come to our attention that the Western Lith don't like us flying over their Domiciles. We understand that we are hideous, but isn't that needlessly cruel?"
---Lith Serafi IV, commenting on Their experiences with the Zilra Daemon

Culture

Shared customary codes and values

The Zilra Daemon have the same social structure as all Daemon in Typhon's Teeth do, but have different naming conventions in comparison to the Dosra. These are Kinnar (instead of Legion) for The Kin'ra, Siren (instead of Harpy) for The Si'rin, Imp (instead of Nymph) for The Im'pe, and Cambion (instead of Nephilim) for The To'rin.

This is likely due to the fact that Zilra Daemon are the ones commonly referred to as demons or devils, and have an entire subculture surrounding their-- to Humans-- cryptid nature. The Dosra Daemon, inversely, are widely seen as benevolent creatures that bring the word of the deities to humans, giving them an angel association.

Common Etiquette rules

Ettiquette in Zilra society has its differences with Dosra society, in that they are far more reserved than their Eastern counterparts. Space is always in consideration, so wings are kept hidden outside of the designated takeoff stations, and during certain ceremonial events like The Night of Council or the day of a Lith's induction.

This also means that Zilra rarely wear ornamental accessories, even as Lith. The sole exception is the showing, and ornamentation, of one's horns, as Zilra hold as much pride in them that the Dosra hold in their wings.

The local title system builds off of the standard Daemonic one, where titles are oft used humbly by lower Castes, same-Caste individuals use familial titles, and Regal names are used in atmospheres with familiarity. Regal names are used between friends, families, and the communities that the Daemon are born within.

There is some semblance of an honorific system in Zilra society, but instead of them using the Daemon's race as the root, the name or title of the Daemon is used. "Mi" derives from midi (half), and is used towards younger Daemon, or young Daemon in general. "Sa" derives from either sapro (above) or sata (strong), and is used towards older Daemon, or a Daemon's Guardian. "Di" derives from dip (skin), and is an endearing term.

Common Dress code

Dress code in Zilra society is ultimately lax, in comparison to that of the Dosra. As mentioned before, clothing should not impede on another Daemon's movement; floor-length dresses or outfits with a train, then, are not worn. Besides that, however, Zilra Daemon wear whatever.

Nudity isn't frowned upon in Zilra society-- especially since sexual equipment is sheathed--, so many Daemon opt to walk around in the nude. One proudly shows off their Marks or Tattoos in this manner. Jewelry is often used to accentuate the nude form, so small hair ornaments, earrings, and the occasional glove or bracelet are worn.

When a Zilra Daemon decides to wear clothes, however, the code in which they follow changes with regards to their specific Domain. A Fol Daemon typically wouldn't be clothed from head to toe, nor a Les Daemon in thin garments, after all. Fairly recently, many Zilra Daemon have opted to wear human clothing out of convenience.
