Chudina

Serpent of Kani (a.k.a. Lilith)

"The Serpent of Kani. It was said that They were once a beautiful woman who was, as a Tribute, tossed down a pit with snakes. Instead of dying with the snakes, They instead became one with the snakes, and swore to destroy those who made the decision to sacrifice Them. When that wasn't enough, Their destruction continued until Their soul was ultimately lost."
---An entry from Ke'tlan's journal of Solarian Mythos

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The Ouroboros

Symbolizing the self-destructive nature of Lilith's own wrath, Lilith's Ouroboros is usually made with copper, and has a dual meaning: not only is a copperhead a serpent, but in Daemonic, the metal copper [chudira] has an explicit word association with Lilith, who in Daemonic is known as the Copper Guardian.

The Half-Bitten Apple

For a more explicit symbol in human mythos, the half-bitten apple resembles a forbidden truth. In Daemonic symbolism, a half-bitten apple used to symbolize the Bloom sex, as it shows both Fruit and Seed. Lilith is a popular trans figure for Daemonic youth, especially since They are, sadly, The Devil in human Tarot.

Tenets of Faith

  1. Take the reigns of your own life: never allow someone to force you to do something.
  2. Fight for your rights to live: there is nothing in the world that shouldn't be fought for.
  3. Show confidence: respect can be lost with even the smallest sign of weakness shown.
  4. Be exceptional: as you are working towards your goals, a bit of pushback is a good sign.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

To test humanity, is Lilith's ultimate goal. How They go about it is by protecting the deserts with which They, and the desert fauna, live. Lilith was a human deified by divine circumstance, so Their goal is ultimately Their own. Lilith's test is similar to Typhon's, which is to cause destruction to the point of inciting a call-to-action, but what differs between Them and the Drake is that They lack a structure to it: to put it bluntly, it comes off as an excuse.   Like Zorille, the Servant of Time, Lilith once experienced life as a normal sentient Being, but when a Tribute to the Gods went wrong, and divine intervention prevented Their death, They transformed, gaining a new time-resistant form. Unlike the other Deities of Mors, once Lilith dies, there will never be another one like Them. They may have their role replaced someday, but that role may be filled by someone entirely different from Them.

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

Lilith is best characterized by the large, spotted hood that cups the sides of Their face and stops at the sternum. Another important feature of Theirs is the fact that Their entire lower body is that of a serpent's. Their entire torso is scaled, and the top portions of Their arms are as well. More or less, They are just a really big, copper-colored snake with humanoid arms popping out from the sides of the hood.   It's not worth mentioning how Their human form once looked, but it may add some insight to how Their body transformed: They were once short and voluptuous, with long, black hair that draped down to the middle of Their back. It is said that these traits led to Them being used as a Tribute, which infuriated Them for centuries.

History

They both met at random when Zorille saw Lilith within the Helian Ruins on one of their nomadic walks. The stoat asked the serpent what was wrong; They obliged, and explained Their circumstance.
Zorille consoled the stressed Lilith, and that is when the two of them learned of their roles for the world. The stoat agreed to lend an ear out to Them whenever they were able to.

Relationship Reasoning

Both of them were granted deity status within a century of each other, Zorille being the older of the two. As they parallel one another, their rivalry is widely known within Human societies.

Shared Acquaintances

Both of them are connected with the Nature Guardian, who acts as their carrier of information. Since the area beyond the wall is rather dangerous, this is the only way that Lilith is able to contact Their friend.
