Session 12: A Rebellion of Ash and Iron Report
General Summary
Session 12: the party huddled together, formulating a strategy while awaiting Ash's return to camp after assasinating Lucius Magnus. Once reunited, they crafted a plan to sway the mercenaries - called The Blood- to their cause, leveraging the righteousness of their mission. Lucious, familiar with parts of their story, provided valuable insights into Greta Wulfhart's backstory.
Their next move involved interrogating the captured Vampire Spawn, Leona. Despite her resistance, they concluded she remained a threat, even if freed from Reyes' control. Vass's mental probing uncovered a chilling discovery: a hidden cache of bodies beneath the Government Headquarters and the Grain Silo.
A peculiar incident occurred when Vass, after falling asleep near the Demon trappred in the device they'd placed him in, awoke to find the Nergalresh gone. Despite tracking small footprints to thier tent and questioning Eira, Yisna, and a mute Eifer girl, the mystery deepened with no clear leads. Where did the Nergalesh go?
As they ventured into town, Lavinia encountered Calvin, a roguish figure lurking in an alleyway. She cleverly persuaded him to deliver a letter to the Blood's leader, Greta Wulfhart, rather than resorting to violence.
A meeting with Greta and Shem, their Turrian ally from the Blood, ensued. Nearby, a rogue-vs-rogue scenario unfolded between Calvin and Ash. The party successfully convinced Greta to abandon her contract by revealing the gruesome evidence of vampire activity beneath the town's grain silo.
Sucessful, the group attempted a stealthy approach to Falvus Verus house, Vass's efforts backfired, leading to a confrontation with a guard town guard who recognized him. Vass managed to intimidate the man but at the cost of many people wittnessing the use of his magic. It ignited a mob who believed him to be a demon-possessed warlock. This resulted in a frenzied mob chasing him out of town.
Meanwhile, the rest of the party infiltrated Falvus' house. Lavinia, impersonating Falvus, and Allesandra, posing as a guard, managed to sneak Marcus and Ash inside as prisoners. While Lavinia kept the guards occupied, Ash explored the mansion, and Marcus and Allesandra discovered a darkened room with a sinister secret.
The session reached a climactic moment as Vass attempted to enter the house from the back, while Marcus, Ash, and Allesandra opened the coffin of Reyes, exposing him to indirect light. As Reyes' eyes snapped open, the party prepared for a surprise attack, rolling initiative for the ensuing battle
